Deep Dive

Part 6: Creating and Saving Presets

What is Auracle for X-Series?

Auracle for X-Series is the free control software that allows you to set up and configure your iConnectivity audio and MIDI Interfaces. In this new video series, we’ll be walking through all the features of Auracle for X-Series so you know exactly how to set up and configure your interface.

In this video, we’ll be taking a look at the Presets page, and how you can easily load and save presets using Auracle for X-Series.

Before we dive into today’s video make sure you’ve downloaded Auracle for X-Series and installed it on your computer.

Entering the Presets Page

With your interface connected to your computer, click the Presets button to enter the Presets page. Please note that currently only the Mio X series interfaces support the preset functionality included in Auracle for X-series.

Understanding the Presets Page

The Presets page is laid out with a simple and easy-to-use interface. You can save and load presets and backup and restore presets from this page. In this article, we’re going to walk through the first two functions available on this page, saving and loading presets. Stick around for our next article in the series, where we’ll look at backing up and restoring presets.

Loading Presets

To start, let’s load a new preset on our MioXM. Under the Save/Load section click the “Load Preset” dropdown.

You’ll see a drop-down list showing all the available presets you can load. The number of available presets shown depends on your specific interface.

Click one of the options shown in the list to load the preset. In the example below, I’m choosing “Preset 3”.

After choosing a preset, you’ll see a pop-up confirming which preset you’d like to load. Click Yes if that preset is correct.

Once the preset is loaded, you’ll see a pop-up at the bottom of the screen confirming the change.

Saving Presets

Saving Presets is as simple of a process as loading presets. To start, click the “Save Preset As” option under the “Save/Load” section.

You’ll see a dropdown of all the available presets. Again, the amount of presets available here depends on your specific interface.

If you’d like to save your current settings to all presets on your interface, choose “Save To All Presets”. I find this feature helpful when I want to save base settings for all the presets on my device. If you’re not intending on changing presets on your interface, I use this setting to ensure no matter what preset my interface is on-I will always have the correct settings.

To save to a specific preset, click on a specific preset shown in the list.

Once you choose a preset, you’ll have the option to name your preset. Once complete, click SAVE to save your name and preset.

The Preset screen makes loading and saving presets as easy a few button clicks.

Back Up and Export Presets

Stick around for our next post, where we’ll explore how to back up and export presets using the Presets page in Auracle for X-Series.
