We recently asked CK what it was that attracted her to iConnectivity interfaces:

"When I heard about the iConnectAUDIO4+ I knew it would be perfect for me, and that’s because I have two sides to my musical life. I spend most of my time writing music for TV and film, but I also perform experimental found-sound and live-sampling gigs using my iPad. The iCA4+ not only handles both situations beautifully but has brought these two pursuits closer together in some really cool ways."

How have you found the front panel layout and features found on the iConnectAUDIO4+? Has it been reliable for you, as a working composer? Are you happy with the audio quality?

"In my day-to-day studio use, it’s been rock solid. I need to work quickly, and the unit’s four inputs help by letting me leave guitars and an XLR for a mic connected all the time. The front-panel controls are easy to use, and the device sounds great."

What would you say are your favourite features of the iConnectAUDIO4+? How do you find the iOS integration with the rest of your workflow?

"These days, plenty of interfaces support both Mac/PC and mobile devices. But the iCA4+ goes way beyond that by routing audio and MIDI between them – that gets into some crazy-cool territory!
As a performer, I do found-sound solo pieces but also have a long history of live-sampling in ensembles. I performed for 14 years in an amazing conducted-improvisation ensemble called Out of Context.
I used to use a firewire interface to bring my 10+ bandmates into a MacBook, however, I’ve now moved to iPad and I use the iCA4+ to bring multiple sources into the very cool iOS app Samplr. The iCA4+, beyond working so well with iOS devices, allows me to easily route all my inputs into Samplr in a way Samplr doesn’t offer natively."

Would you say then, that the ability to route your workflow between mobile devices and your laptop is a major reason why you use the iConnectAUDIO4+?

"The iConnectAUDIO4+’s ability to connect my laptop and iPad adds so many creative possibilities. I'm typically producing a track a day, so I love any tool which sparks new ideas! I might route sound out of Logic and into Turnado on the iPad for really fun processing. Or I can sketch something in Samplr on the iPad while outside on the hammock, then walk inside and perform it right into Logic to take it further. I’m probably going to use both my iPhone and iPad in performances now, too!"

Our mission at iConnectivity has always been to allow musicians to connect in unique and innovative ways. Seeing CK integrates our features into her workflow and creativity is a real thrill for us.

Every inch the definition of the "Power User" - we're proud to be the interface choice of this innovative and successful composer.
