How to Save | Hardware & software

In this article you will want to note what type of iConnectivity interface you are using for the correct instructions.

TYPE 1 - Single memory interface - These interface only carry a single memory on the hardware at any time and can only load from and to that single memory
ConnectAUDIO2/4, AUDIO2+, AUDIO4+, AUDIO4c, mio2, mio4, mio10, MIDI2+, MIDI4+

TYPE 1a - Single memory dual preset. This only applies to the PlayAUDIO12.
With TYPE1a and TYPE 2 interfaces you will have Global Settings and Scene/Preset specific Settings.
The Global settings will span across any preset/scene on the interface. The following settings are Global.
- Firmware, USB host reservation, RTP/Network connections, Naming of MIDI ports, Audio levels, audio bit depth, Sample Rate and Failover Settings (PA12).

Preset/Scene Settings include the following
- MIDI Routing, MIDI filtering, MIDI remapping, Audio Routing

TYPE 2 - Multiple Preset interfaces - mioXM, mioXL
These interface have the ability to save multiple Presets that can have different or the same Preset/Scene Specific Settings.

Hardware: Interface front panel

TYPE 1 and 1a interfaces

To perform a hardware save on an iConnectivity interface simply click once on the knob or button on your interface's front panel. If you have a touch panel it will flash orange twice to indicate a save has happened.

Saving on the PlayAUDIO12

Unlike the other current iConnectivity interfaces, the PlayAUDIO12 has two memory locations, one for each of the two failover settings. This means that in order to save individual routings you need to save twice - once in each of the memory locations.

To do this:

  1. Edit Scene A

  2. Depress the hardware knob on the front panel to save Scene A settings

  3. Switch to scene B

  4. Make the modifications you need to Scene B

  5. Hardware save again using the front panel knob

Note that this hardware save only saves the scene you are on. If you switch scenes before doing the hardware save it will not be preserved in the PlayAUDIO12's memory.

TYPE 2 Interfaces - HARDWARE

mioXL

Touch(select) the Save button on the front touch panel of the mioXL

Software: Auracle X

There are a few different types of devices and how they save vary with Auracle X so please read below.

TYPE 1 - Single memory interfaces
AUDIO2+, AUDIO4+, mio2, mio4, mio10, MIDI2+, MIDI4+

Since these interfaces have only a single memory the Presets page (where you save with Auracle X) will have very limited/basic options, SAVE and LOAD.

These buttons do what they are saying BUT there are some things to note in how they work.
The Save button will take configuration that is happening actively in Auracle X and save to the single memory slot in the interface. Anything previously will be gone and the new settings will apply.
If you close Auracle X without clicking save you may have to redo the settings again before saving, they do not automatically stay applied to the device. If you’ve successfully saved you will see a message appear in the bottom left corner of Auracle X.

The Load button is best used as soon as you enter Auracle X. This button will take the current settings on the interface and apply them to Auracle X. This can be very important for AUDIO series interfaces so you don’t end up going to the audio page with the incorrect settings and overwriting.
Note: If you don’t like a change you’ve made just don’t click save, close Auracle X and open again.

TYPE 1a

The PlayAUDIO12 will require using the hardware save option only. Software saves will not work correctly for this interface type.

TYPE 2 - Single memory interfaces
mioXM, mioXL

Since these interface have multiple memories (XM = 4 XL = 32) we will see more options on the Preset page.

To save in Auracle X go to the Presets Page

Use the Save As dropdown menu to select which Preset/memory slot you would like to save your current interface settings (based off Auracle X) to.

Once you select a Preset number you will see a new window asking for the name you would like to call it. You can keep the default name '“Preset #” or you can add your own.
Note: Names must be under 15 characters.

If you are happy with the new routing setup and your name click Save.
If not click Cancel and change any options you need.

Both mioXM and mioXL can also save the same routing setup to ALL presets. This is really good to set a new default routing scheme for your interface.

The Save To All Presets is commonly use on the mioXM because it has touch button for changing memories/Preset on the front. If they were accidentally changed and the routing is different on each preset it could be bad, especially in a live scenario.
If you have the same setup on all presets it will not matter if the preset gets changed.
